Where is it used & what are the advantages?

Rivers & Streams:
Whether wading in a stream or river you will always know that you have solid support. Your wadding staff will never again interfere with your fishing! The Cord is UV resistant and has a swivel clip to attach to your vest. The cord is just the right length so that the No-Float Stix is ready yet out of the way. Allowing it to stay behind you or anywhere you need it to be.

With the weighted tip and the submersible feature it allows you to have a wading staff that the tip will go down to the bottom quickly like you need it to and stay there. The handle end is sealed so in the upper end there is an air pocket so if it ever does get disconnected from you the handle will stay in the upper column of water where it will be easy to get to. It won't sink to the bottom or float down stream.

River

The large rubber foot is a great aid for you in sharp rocky areas or in soft bottoms. For example have you ever tried to put a point on a point it just doesn't work. The large rubber cup gives a much bigger surface area in soft bottoms and doesn't sink in as far and get stuck as easily. If it ever needs to be replaced you can get them at your local hardware store for 50 cents thus saving you shipping and down time waiting for a part.

The No-Float Stix can tell you when the current is too fast to go any further. If you hold it out in front of you and the current pushes it out 45 degrees from the vertical position do not go any farther as the water will take your feet from under you. We tested this and it works, be safe and STOP.

The most important thing to remember about the No-Float Stix is that you must let it do the work, don't push it through the water, it will wear you out. Here is how to make it work for you. Raise it up using your wrist and it will automatically start to move forward even in a current. Set it down in front of you and take two steps forward. Than repeat as needed. The reason for this is weight in the bottom along with the water within the submersible system creates a pendulum motion, so the key is to use this to your advantage

Ponds & Lakes:

Most fisherman think that ponds and lakes are safe and a wadding staff isn’t needed. A good example is a hidden hole or an object that you can't see.

Pond

This could have ruined a good fishing day. Many lakes and ponds have soft bottoms, which can make it very hard to maneuver. With the No-Float Stix you have a very large foot print, and you will find it is a great help in negotiating those waters.

Salt Water Rocky & Sandy Beaches:

Too often fisherman take it for granted that a wadding staff is only needed in rivers and streams. Saltwater beaches and estuaries are also a place that you will want to have your No-Float Stix. In the rocky areas it will give equally as good support as it does in the rivers and streams.

In many areas there are tides and current that run in these salt water areas and the No-Float Stix will be right there ready to help you negotiate those salty waters. On the beach where the waves are coming in the No-Float Stix can be a life saver when one of those rouge waves decides to take your feet out from under you. It will be there ready to come to your aid.

Little thought is given to warm sandy beaches. In a test at Sarasota , FL the weight in the No-Float Stix added extra vibration and allowed the stingrays to slip away and us to fish.

"One Piece" vs folding or adjustable.
The number one reason we decided to go with the "One Piece" construction is its "0%" failure rate along with all the other advantages. lets look deeper into this comparison. The folding staff diameter is generally 1/2" to 5/8" and it is thin wall aluminum to keep the weight down. When they are put together they seem rigid however if you are in a situation where it must support your weight it more than likely will not and could fail. Most float so must be folded when fishing, which presents the most hazardous situation you could put yourself in. Your fishing, your folding stick is put away and you want to move 5' to your left. You don't get your stick out, you trip and if your real lucky you only get wet. Folding sticks are also prone to get bent and become very difficult to take apart due to derbies in the joints.

The adjustable wading staffs seem to be very convenient, however in reality you only need one size. Their diameter is generally larger on one end but the material is still thin walled. All that I have tested float and like the collapsible staff if it were to for some reason come unattached from you it would either sink or worse yet float down stream. If it were to sink while you were deep in a river you would have to totally submerge yourself thus filling you waders with water and putting yourself in grave danger. Both when extended tend to get in the way of your fishing, not a good thing.

The "No-Float Stix" resolves all these issues. Two primary important features are first in line. It's always ready and it will always keep out of the way when your fishing.

Why weight?
A quote from Lee Wulff"The only good wading stick is one that is weighted." Why is that? I am sure many of you have been on the river with a wading stick over your back so it won't get in your way floating in front of you. Worse yet have a fish on and have your line get tangled around your wading staff. That is why the collapsible wading staff was invented. I have to say it is good in theory but when you are fishing and it is put away and you only have to move a couple of feet. Most fisherman never pull it out they just move to the next spot. That could be a big mistake, you could put yourself in grave danger.

Being weighted makes it so you don't have to fight to get the tip to the bottom where you want and need it to be. Before we go further lets look at our sport of Fly Fishing. What do you have to do to get a 'Nymph" to the bottom where the fish are? You must add weight and depending upon how fast the water is you might need to add quite a bit of weight. It is this theory that helped create the "No-Float Stix".

It took several years and physics calculations to come up with the ideal weight that would be just right for all around conditions. Once that was formulated and tested we came up with what we have know. A 5 1/2" ingot that is grooved and peened in place with a 12 ton press. We still had a problem and that was when the staff went into the water it went to the bottom but it still was a bit buoyant. That is when we came up with the "Submersible System". Which is what made it become what it is today. The best, most innovative, strongest and technologically advanced wading staff on the market today.

What is the submersible system?
The submersible system came to be as a result of the "No-Float Sticks" with just the weight still being a bit buoyant. in the tip when submerged. This was due to the upper end being sealed to insure if it were dropped that it wouldn't sink like so many of the other wading staffs. To resolve this problem we used the same type system that a submarine uses to dive. Water! Yes water to create additional ballast. In doing this we use the water to make the tip of the N0-Float Stix approximately the same weight in the water as it is out of the water. Three wholes are precisely measured and drilled to take on water quickly and to evacuate the water quickly when removed from the water.

This works so well that when you remove it from the water you can't tell the weight difference. All of the water is evacuated so there is no mess in your car later. Now when the tip is submerged it goes quickly to the bottom even in the quickest current and stays where you put it. The other nice feature is we retained the handle grip to still retain it's buoyancy making it so if you were to have the No-Float Stix get separated from you it will stay put and the handle will be floating in the upper column of water within easy reach.
